магнитооптическая запись
МО запись
Оптическая запись, при которой одновременное воздействие оптического пучка и магнитного поля на носитель оптической записи приводит к изменению магнитного состояния носителя в соответствии с записываемой информацией, причем передатчиком информации носителю является магнитное поле, а оптический пучок оказывает дополнительное воздействие на носитель записи.

Хранение данных большой емкости на оптических дисках. Оптический диск имеет тонкий слой магнитной пленки, которая разогревается лазером, затем частицы поляризуются слабым магнитным полем. Магнитооптический накопитель имеет очень большую емкость (более 600 Мб) и является перезаписывающимся. Магнитооптические диски часто используются для переноса данных между платформами IBM PC и Apple Macintosh.
